Terms of Use
How to read our estimates, and the disclosure behind our links.
By using Wildcard you agree to these terms. Wildcard is operated by Surge Council LLC. Last updated August 9, 2026.
What Wildcard is — and is not
Wildcard publishes editorial estimates of what sealed sports-card products are worth to open. Expected value, break-even prices, and verdicts are calculated from manufacturer odds sheets and recent market prices. They are directional estimates, not guarantees: odds sheets are approximations, card values move constantly, and any individual box can land far from its average.
Nothing here is financial or investment advice. Trading cards are a discretionary purchase with volatile resale value and no assurance of return. Decide what you can afford to spend, and treat our numbers as one input rather than a recommendation to buy.
Prices shown on marketplace listings are supplied by those marketplaces and can change or sell out at any time. We do not sell cards and are not party to any transaction you make with a retailer.
Affiliate disclosure
Some links on Wildcard are affiliate links. If you buy after clicking one, we may earn a commission from the retailer at no additional cost to you. We participate in the eBay Partner Network, Amazon Associates, and programs on impact.com, including Fanatics.
Commissions never influence our verdicts. Expected value is computed before any link is built, we publish "skip" verdicts on products we would earn from, and we do not accept payment for placement, coverage, or a favorable rating.
Accounts and acceptable use
If you create an account, keep your credentials secure and let us know about unauthorized use. Do not scrape the site at volumes that degrade it for others, attempt to break authentication or access other users’ data, or resell our content as your own.
We provide the drop calendar and restock alerts for information only. We never automate checkout, cart-holding, or queue circumvention, and we ask that you do not use our alerts as part of a system that does.
Availability and liability
The service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We do not promise that alerts will arrive in time to buy anything, that estimates will prove accurate, or that the site will be uninterrupted.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Surge Council LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for purchasing decisions you make using the site. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.
Changes
We may update these terms; continued use after a change means you accept it. Questions go to aaron@surgecouncil.com.
