When the tier-1 GOATs run, a tier-2 all-time great can be perfectly priced against his own comps while his whole market sits well below the ratio to that GOAT it held for years. There is no discount to detect, because comps are exactly the thing that moved. This board measures that ratio instead, against each pairing's own recorded history.

What "baseline" means here
The median of the ratios this system actually recorded over 90 days, excluding the most recent 21 — otherwise a fresh move would drag down the number it is being measured against. Below 8 observations a pairing has no baseline and says so. No baseline in this system is ever typed in by hand.
Every reading is an observation about a historical relationship, not a forecast. A gap that never closes means the market re-rated the player rather than forgot him.
