The grading backlog that plagued 2023-24 is gone. PSA, BGS, and SGC have all normalized turnaround times to 4-8 weeks (from 8-12+ weeks in 2024). Pricing has stabilized around 2024 levels.

Bulk grading discounts
All three graders offer volume discounts:
- PSA: 10+ cards get 15-20% off economy tier ($25-40/card)

Strategy: If grading 15+ bulk modern commons, use PSA bulk ($25-40/card saves 50-60% vs regular tier). Turnaround is still 6-8 weeks (acceptable for commons).

Scenario: Raw card worth $150. Expected grade: PSA 9.
PSA Regular ($115 cost): Card as PSA 9 = $350. ROI = $350 - $150 - $115 = $85 profit. Turnaround: 4-6 weeks.
BGS Standard ($95 cost): Card as BGS 9 = $280 (BGS discount). ROI = $280 - $150 - $95 = $35 profit. Turnaround: 5-7 weeks.
SGC Standard ($75 cost): Card as SGC 9 (modern) = $200 (SGC discount). ROI = $200 - $150 - $75 = -$25 loss. Not worth it.

Common grading mistakes (and how to avoid them)
Mistake 1: Grading commons with low EV — A $5 common card costs $50 to grade. ROI is negative. Don't grade singles under $50 raw value.
Mistake 2: Using wrong grader — Submitting modern cards to SGC when PSA would get 3x the resale. Each grader has a niche; use the right one.
Mistake 3: Over-estimating your card's grade — You think your card is a 9, but it's an 8 with centering issues. Grading costs $100, card value only goes up $50. ROI negative.
