EV is a full-print-run average built from a Wildcard editorial estimate — it assumes every chase card is still sealed, and most boxes return less than the average. We do not record when this estimate was last checked — it may have been written at release and never revisited. How we rate, and what these numbers assume →

What's in the box

  • 2 autos per box (on average)
  • Silver Prizm ~1:2 packs
  • 22 parallels per box

The flagship basketball product. Heavy premium for the brand — you pay ~30% for the ripping experience.

The cards worth chasing

How to spot them in hand:

  • Rookie Silver Prizms — A base card of a first-year player, carrying the RC logo. Turn it over: a Silver Prizm carries the Prizm logo in the upper right of the BACK, and a base card does not. On the front it throws a multi-coloured, rainbow shimmer when tilted to the light; a base card stays flat. It is unnumbered, so the back logo is the reliable check.

Don't toss it — what gets binned by mistake

Everyone opening this box knows what the headline card is. These are the ones that go in the bulk box instead, and what separates them from a common in your hand.

  • 🎯 Short print Prizmania SSP ~$320

Look for: A Prizmania insert with no serial number on it. It looks like any other insert in the box — the scarcity is not printed anywhere on the card.

A hobby box delivers 10 inserts, and Prizmania falls at a small fraction of the rate of the Fireworks/Kaleidoscopic/Fractal inserts sitting next to it in the same box. Nothing on the card says "short print", so it gets filed with the common inserts.

  • 🎯 Short print Groovy SSP ~$63

Look for: A Groovy insert, unnumbered. New to the 2024-25 checklist, so it is unfamiliar even to people who have opened Prizm for years.

The other new short print in this release. Being new is exactly what makes it a sleeper — there is no muscle memory telling you to stop on it.

  • 🌈 Parallel Numbered parallels of veterans (not just rookies) no live comp

Look for: A serial number on the card. The hobby rainbow runs Blue Ice /125, Orange /49, Mojo /25, Gold /10 and Black 1/1 — check every numbered card, not only the rookies.

A box carries 22 Prizms parallels. The reflex is to check the rookies and bulk the rest, but a low-numbered parallel of an established star is often worth more than a Silver rookie of a player who never develops. The serial number is the signal; the name on the card is not.
